Poll description

Election of the Annodex Association committee for 2007

Nominations were received via email. The following are standing unopposed:

President: Silvia Pfeiffer
Vice-President: Conrad Parker
Secretary: Shane Stephens
Treasurer: James Purser

The following nominations were received for ordinary committee members: Michael Dale, Christoph Lindenmueller, Michael Smith, Jean-Marc Valin. Three (3) ordinary committee member positions are available. The candidate's position statements follow.

Michael Dale

I am also interested in being a member. The metavid project makes a lot of use of the annodex technologies. I hope to work to improve the ease of which these technologies are adopted in other projects. I also want to promote & participate in development which will enable wider usage of annodex.

Christoph Lindenmueller

I run for the Annodex Committee as an "ordinary board member", I would like to bring in the users view. I am studying computer science and live in Germany.

Michael Smith

I think that over the next year there are many opportunities for interesting uses of annodex opening up - and I think I'm well placed to help push annodex as the solution for those problems. Now that the incorporation stuff is finally done (well done all!), I hope I can help push the actual technologies, and tools, into wider use.

Jean-Marc Valin

I'd like to run for an "ordinary member" position on the board. I mainly want to help fixing the remaining technical issues (everything discussed at FOMS) to help Annodex succeed. I think I can also contribute many good (and probably several bad!) ideas about where things should be going.

Result

1. Michael Dale  (Condorcet winner: wins contests with all other choices)
2. Michael Smith  loses to Michael Dale by 9–5
3. Jean-Marc Valin  loses to Michael Dale by 8–7, loses to Michael Smith by 9–6
4. Christoph Lindenmueller  loses to Michael Dale by 13–2, loses to Jean-Marc Valin by 12–5

For simplicity, some details of the poll result are not shown.
